Poetry, for me, is trying to describe and make sense of those moments when, in reality, their existence can only be explained by silence.

I see poetry in people, in those who live with one foot on the ground and a hand touching the hearts of others.

Poetry has words, expressions with the power to describe the unthinkable, the untouchable, the unforgettable.

It keeps me safe. Eyes on the paper, mind absorbed in place.

Fantasies, feelings, emotional adventures, lives I perhaps lived once before but can’t remember anymore.

Through poetry, through writing, I swim in the eyes of the ones I’ve loved, or maybe the ones I don’t know. I can touch their hearts, feel their souls, and hear their words.

With poetry, I cancel the noise in my channel, synchronizing all senses with the wind, with the waves, with the sounds that communicate love. A harmony that echoes through endless time. Signals from far away travel so close to my throat.

Poetry is the sun, the moon. His eyes, my touch. Her love.
